Post 16 Bursary Fund
If you continue in post 16 full time education in Kirklees, you may be entitled to apply for financial assistance if you think you will struggle with the costs of learning.
If you are in one of the following groups, you will be entitled to a bursary of £1,200;
In care; A care leaver; in receipt of income support; or a disabled young person in receipt of Employment Support Allowance who is also in receipt of Disability Living Allowance.
The £1,200 will firstly be an 'in kind' payment for travel, food and course needs. Any remaining funds will be paid to you as long as you meet agreed standards set by school.
If your family's household income is below the threshold for Working Tax Credits / Free School Meals and you will find it difficult to meet the costs of full time education you may be entitled to some support from school including support with transport, on course costs and food. This will depend on you meeting agreed standards.
Category C includes learners facing extreme financial barriers.
If you face real difficulties in continuing to stay in full time education, you will be able to apply to school for assistance from the 16 - 19 Bursary. Any help offered will be entirely at school's discretion.
If you think you are eligible under any of the above categories you will need to contact Steve Walsh at Fairfield School to discuss/arrange for the appropriate forms to be sent home or alternatively click below.
