Scientific concepts are developed throughout school based on experiences that encourage exploration, observation, problem solving, prediction, critical thinking, decision making and investigation skills; to enable the pupils to understand their world and encourage them to develop a sense of interest and responsibility towards it. Pupils are encouraged to combine their curiosity with a responsible attitude towards health and safety, as well as respect for living things and the physical environment. Scientific ideas are applied to real life problems including those that require aspects of design and technology to solve them.
We make links to our school and local environment within our science curriculum, along with cross curricular links. Visits out of school are encouraged to develop learning and enquiry skills.
